Winchcombe, The George Inn c.1960

More about this scene
Winchcombe's main street has changed remarkably little in the past four decades. It remains a thriving thoroughfare of small shops that cater for the locals' needs to this day. On the right of the picture, behind the railings, are the town's stocks. Last used in 1860, they have seven leg holes, which is curious.
