More about this scene
Pilgrims came from all over the world to pay homage at the Shrine of St Swithun, a former Winchester Bishop. When the Saint's body was moved from the original burial place and into the Norman Cathedral, a violent storm broke out—perhaps the origin of St Swithun's influence over the British weather.
