More about this scene
The splendid church of St Cross was built between 1170 and 1230 for the poor brethren and is a fine architectur- al mix of Norman and Early English. The squat tower is thought to have been rebuilt in 1384. Inside, there is a striking Norman font and a lectern of 1509.
