More about this scene
The Lych Gate gave access to the cathedral burial ground. By 1965 it was the last surviving cathedral lych gate in Britain, but was demolished, along with Lich Street, to create a dire shopping precinct. The posters on the wall advertise Midland Railway excursions to Blackpool and Weston-super-Mare, promising some hard-earned fun for Worcester's wage slaves.
