The policeman on traffic duty in this scene seems to be having an easy time of it, with nothing but bicycles to worry about, though a tram is just visible in the distance. Notice the charming old sign for the Arcade Cinema, which opened in 1912, making it the city's second cinema. Sadly, it closed as early as the 1930s.
