My name is Wendy Ambrose (now Chambers). My dad Robert Vaughan Ambrose was born on Myrtle Grove Saron near Llandybie in 1920. He had sisters called, Rachel, Doll, Nancy, May and a brother. My name is Alan Jones, I am from Llandybie having been born at 4 Angel Terrace. This tiny terraced house between the Ivy Bush and the Church was locally known as "Ty John Jew". My Grandfather ran the "Red Cow" for many years. My Great Grand parents lived in a cottage called "Felin Bwlch" near the lime kilns in Pentregwenlais. I was born there and spent my early years in Campbell Road. Back in those days there was a farm in the middle of the village, the Plas, and cows were kept in the field which were taken for milking to the old cowsheds then in Kings Road leading up to the Church! My family came from the following farms - Tireinon (maybe spelt Tyr-Einon), Y Dderwen, Nant Y Mynydd, Glyn Henllan, Gellisifor to name but a few. The main family name was Roberts.
