Streetly is a residential community built alongside the Roman road known as Ryknild Street, traces of which can still be seen in Sutton Park.
It could almost be said that there are two Frodshams, one settlement that nestles just under Overton Hill and a second that developed along Main and High Streets.
Cobbled Lombard Street is a narrow thoroughfare. This turn-of-the-century picture shows that it was just wide enough to accommodate the traffic of that period.
This street of small distinctive shops and fine 18th-century terraced buildings is the commercial hub of the town.
On the left is a row of three houses with their original front doors; further down the street are two 18th-century mansard-roofed cottages, one of which is thatched.
New street lamps also replace the ones in this picture, and the street was wider then than now.
This picture shows a scene similar to the previous view, but was taken a little further up the street and 20 years later.

A walk down High Street from Westgate to the Buttercross takes the sightseer along one of the most ancient streets in the realm.

In the warehouse district, Portland Street in 1885 began on the south side of the infirmary and was used to link Oxford Street and Piccadilly by tramway.
In the distance is Richman's and St Mary's Street. Barton's, a 17th-century timber-framed building with a Collyweston stone tile roof, is now L'Incontro restaurant.
There are many notable buildings in the High Street and in South Street.
From the church gate we look down Churchgate Street. On the right is the Crown Hotel, managed by William Manning.
Evans gave way to Boots, and Cousins ceased trading some years ago, after relocating to Park Street. St Georges Road is to the left, opposite Obelisk Street.
