Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

This view looks north up Church Street with No 15 on the left, a medieval house with a good crown post roof, and on the right the toy shop with the evocative names of makes of toy on its facade is now a chemist and has had the gable timber-framing rebuilt. The church tower is 15th-century, refaced in the 1880s. Beyond is the old Weller's Brewery, later the Goya perfume factory and since the 1980s converted to stylish apartments.

Amersham College, Woodside Road.
My name is Philip Hitchcock. I attended Amersham College 1956 to 1958. It was owned by Mr Holland (Boss). Another teacher was Mr Fuchs (Fred) an Austrian. Fred taught German, Maths, Science, and took charge of us at cricket. However I am not sure he knew the rules of the game! Boss attempted to teach the rest of the subjects. My preference was for Fred as he got me interested in Science, and I went on ...see more

Street Fair.
I used to be so excited about the street fair every September. It ran the entire length of Old Amersham High Street. I still have a precious photo of me, along with two little monkeys, which was taken at the fair. Possibly in about 1961. My parents were married at St Mary's church in 1940, the same year my grandfather died. He was buried in the churchyard. My grandmother is also buried there, as is my dear mother. ...see more

Update:Mystery Solved!!
To Whom It May Concern:    I am an American living in the state of Maryland.  I've had a picture in my office for quite some time now, that I recently took a better look at.  Originally, I was told that this picture was of the city of Rockville, in Maryland, during the late 19th century.  Upon closer inspection though, the picture has a pub by the name of 'The Hand 'n' Hand Wellers' and below that the sign ...see more

Genealogy & Research Images

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
