Chesterfield, The Town Hall And Rose Hill c.1955

More about this scene
Once upon a time there was a house on the site of the Town Hall called Rosehill. In about 1830, when the tenant was a Mr James Ashwell, the bells used for calling servants to individual rooms developed the habit of ringing by themselves. Even the installation of a new bell system failed to stop these strange happenings, and they even rang after the wires had been cut. No explanation was ever found.
