A hundred years earlier in Eckington there were another five inns and taverns in the town: the Rose and Crown, the Duke of York, the Coach and Horses (whose landlord Jas Robinson was also a spring knife manufacturer), the Brown Bear and the Angel, from where William Lund also operated as a farrier.
