More about this scene

Station Road is readily recognisable as it drops away from the underground station towards Hale Lane and Mill Hill. It is sad that the essentially 1930s character of the shop fronts has been eroded away by plate glass and aluminium. It cannot be said that the buildings are architecturally exciting, but they do express the solid confidence of the 1930s Outer London suburbs.
