More about this scene
Rolle Street takes its name from the Rolle family of Bicton House, who owned the land on which much of modern day Exmouth stands. This broad thoroughfare, seen here where it leaves the Strand, was constructed in 1875. The woman and young girl on the left are standing in the doorway of the local piano shop.
