More about this scene
A closer look at the shop and the clock. The national figures installed on the clock did not appear until 1904. An inscription reads: 'Time ball falls daily at 12 o'clock and the barometer under is set at 9am daily'. The five striking jacks represent Wales, Scotland, Ireland, England and, of course, Old Father Time.
