This is the only eight-sailed mill England, and has just (2004) had its ogee cap and sails repaired and reinstated. When working it is probably the most beautiful windmill in England. Built in 1830, but with only five sails, it was damaged by a storm in 1890. When it was repaired in 1892, the number of sails was increased to eight. The mill is a truly beautiful sight, and can be seen for many a mile across the flat and fertile fen countryside.
