More about this scene

The 17th-century mill at Hinxton oozes character with its weatherboarded walls, although the corrugated asbestos roof it sports in this view does not particularly add to its charms. In recent years, it has been restored to full working order.

A Selection of Memories from Hinxton

For many years now, we've been inviting visitors to our website to add their own memories to share their experiences of life as it was, prompted by the photographs in our archive. Here are some from Hinxton

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

I remember walking and splashing in the ford with my family.
I was born in 1959 at no 3 Church Green, Hinxton, 3 doors away from the church. I went to this church until I was 6 and I played in the churchyard.
