I worked in the Hotel Continental in the very hot summer of 1976 with 3 friends. It was a glorious summer season and the sun shone endlessly, so we spent many lazy days (between work shifts!) on the beach. I drove past this building yesterday and am sad to see what an appalling state in which it has deteriorated. I remember this Hotel in the 1960s when it was a hive of activity with a full complement of staff (just a few months ago I met the lady who used to be the Housekeeper there for a few years). I spent one or two weeks here around 1977. I remember the pool and it was the year of the ladybird infestation they were every where. My parents and I would often talk about our holiday there, we have photos somewhere I'm sure. How sad that it's not there today.
