An imposing statue of Queen Victoria once stood on the right where the cars are parked in this photograph. The statue was made by Doulton Potteries and remained on this site until the early 1930s when it was removed to the grounds of Greenham House, and then later moved to Victoria Park. The advertisement between the two Beynons signs reads 'holiday wear'.
