Northleach, The Green 1952

More about this scene
The Green continues south from the market place. The half-timbered house on the right dates from Tudor times. Note how the timber work on the first floor projects, or jetties, from the ground floor stonework. It is interesting that the little cars and vans looked so much more friendly in these times: they are not ostentatious, and they leave room for these pedestrians and cyclists to roam carelessly about.
