On the left, another hair stylist is sandwiched between George Oliver's footwear shop and Johnson's dyers and cleaner's.
Evans's tobacconist's and sweet shop next to the chemist's also did removals, and the tall end building was a café.

Next door is the Beachbrook Hotel and a fishing tackle shop. A long pier off to the right offered amusements and a superb place to fish.
These days Nether End is where most visitors to Baslow usually finish up; around the green there are a number of places to eat as well as several shops.
The view shows the centre of Domesday Anstige, as the road drops down from the heights of Bradgate Park.
On the left outside Rodber's furniture and floor coverings shop can be seen tables, beds and a chest of drawers, and also their delivery van.
Below the hotel, facing the sea, are many small shops. Towards the bottom of the hill The Gaiety Bazaar may be seen, a treasure-house for holiday gifts.
