The mill stands on the northern edge of town, with St Mary's graveyard visible beyond; it dates from Norman times, and by the Middle Ages was used for fulling cloth.
Without doubt, Pembroke is one of the most impressive defended sites in Wales.
The parish church of St Mary is built of local cobbles, with a fine tower that was rebuilt in 1688 using 13th-century materials.
