The Cafe

My dad owned what I think was The Hayward in the early 60's. Does anyone remember if the cafe had a dining room and a bar on the second/third floor? I think is now the Blue India.

The Bus Station

I remember walking past the tea bar on my way from George Street to the bus station to catch either the 71 or the 80 to Stockport Road/Hare and Hounds, Timperley. I did this every day whilst being a pupil at North Cestrian Grammar School

The Bull

Lots of happy times (and a few hangovers ) in the Bull pub in the early sixties.  In the days when the door was in the front,  there used to be a small bar to the left with a dart board and pin table with a small hatch/bar where you got ...Read more

The Beehive Pub Circa Early 70s

Am I right in remembering this pub had sawdust on the floor? The posts outside seemed to be designed for riders to tie horses to. There was only one bar and it was a big one. It was a bit like a wild west bar ...Read more

The Beatty And Us

Like alot of young Kiwis, my wife and I started our OE (Overseas experience) in 1986, and in January 1987 found ourselves in Motspur Park as a result of applying and getting bar jobs at the Earl Beatty pub. Graeme and Marie ...Read more

The Bear Pub & Stuff

I grew up in Noak Hill, living on the caravan site (Cummings Hall Lane) that was behind the Bear Pub on Noak Hill Road. There was a big long lane that ran up alongside the pub and I would sneak down there and through a gap in the ...Read more
