All 300,000 photographs in The Frith Collection have been scanned, but as the photos were taken over a 110 year period on a wide range of glass & film negatives, using different photographic processes, every image has to be checked and optimised, before we make a print for a customer.

I had a wonderful childhood growing up in Standon. I went to the old school in Standon High Street. We walked across the road to have dinner in the village hall. We had the luxury of a swimming pool - outdoor changing rooms. We had drinking water fountains in the playground, fantastic after running around the different parts of the playground. I went to the school here. Mrs Foster was my Teacher and Mr Pritchard was the Head Master. We would cross the road to the village hall for Dinner. I vaguely remember having music lessons in the hall too (We all had recorder lessons). We were lucky enough to have a swimming pool, which was probably, almost unheard of in the 1970’s. I went to Standon School between 1959 to 1965 they were very happy days, Mr Butler was the Headmaster at the time I remember him playing cricket in the play ground with the boys some dinner breaks. I also remember going on school journeys in 1964 and 1965 to Norfolk and Somerset, Mrs Cowan was one of the senior teachers, I know she made a collection of the books that everybody had who went ...see more
When I lived in standon my mum was a teacher at the school I can remember May Day dancing in the street ,I have many memory's of swimming in the ford and helping to push cars that got stuck in the water .calling at westwoods on my way home from school and buying a lucky bag for 3d.
