More about this scene

This picture is of the same road as photograph W64009, but dates from ten years later and is taken from the other direction. The telephone kiosk is of a more modern type, and the shop front has been developed and a post box placed outside. A tall chimney on an outbuilding, leans considerably; this has now been rebuilt. The scene is similar today but there are more trees. The shop has closed and the telephone kiosk moved a short distance. Stone quarrying is a local industry and fossils have been found.
