More about this scene
In 1811 Sir Walter Scott purchased the Cartley Hole estate on the banks of the Tweed and changed its name to Abbotsford. The house was designed in the baronial style by Scott himself, and built between 1817 and 1824, complete with steam central heating. It includes an armoury where Scott's collection of weapons are displayed.
