At the time of this photograph, Norwood Road still has tramline points at the junction with Dulwich Road on the right.
Horwood's fancy goods shop is on the corner with Bedford Street (right). The street nameplate, of which several survive, is a peculiarity of Stroud.
Stafford Almshouse, now privately owned, was originally the home of a priest until 1548, when it became an almshouse for 'two poor widows to be given 20s for wood and 20s for clothing every year'.
