Caption for Abberley, c1960: During the reign of Henry IV, the King's army marched around these hills seeking to bring the Welsh patriot Owain Glyndwr to battle. Peaceful Abberley might have become one of the notable battlefields of England and changed the course of history, had not the elusive Glyndwr slipped back across the Welsh Marches.

Memories of Abberley
