Amble, Queen Street c.1965

More about this scene
The street was developed during the 1830s as the town grew in response to the construction of the harbour for the export of coal. On Queen Street are the scant remains of the medieval manor house that once belonged to Tynemouth Priory: a fragment of wall and a 15th-century window.
