With the turret of the Chine Hotel, which served as a landmark for Channel shipping, prominent in the back- ground, the elegant row of Victorian houses along Undercliffe Road bears tribute to the enduring popularity of this eastern suburb of Bournemouth for Edwardian holidaymakers. The delicate ironwork tracery of the pier seating, and a solitary bathing machine parked by the pier pavilion are further examples of Boscombe`s Victorian origins.

St George's Youth Club Haviland Road
Oh how I remember St George's Youth Club , My Sister [ Diane ] and I lived in Haviland Road , and we sometimes went to SGYC , so many memoirs , we loved Kings Park where we spent many hours on the swings ,Slide etc , Also spent fun times in Shelly Park , We now live in different parts of the world Diane [ my Sister ] lives in Brisbane Australia and I live in the USA , I go back to visit as I ...see more

St Georges Youth Club
I was born in 1931. In 1944 until 1952 I lived at the Police Station in Gloucester Road where my father was a Police Inspector. As a regular member of the Youth Club, I have great memories of cycle trips into the New Forest, Friday night dances, and the memorable 'Skipper'. Another member was Bill Wrigley who with his wife Dorothy, also emigrated to Australia in 1952 and lives in Brisbane, not far away ...see more

Youth Club And Cadets
I have had some wonderful memories brought back to me durting the last few days. I attended St George's Youth Club for a number of years and had great fun at Christmas when we produced a pantomime in the Church Hall. I spent several summer holidays working at the Overstrand, washing up, clearing tables and eventually selling sandwiches, coffee etc. at exhorbitant prices. My brother played euphonium, ...see more

A 1969 Student

For a very enjoyable year I lived at no 14 in Florence Road, a turning halfway down to the beach and off Sea Road in Boscombe (see photo). I became one of the first persons in the country to study for a Higher National Diploma in Tourism. Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
