More about this scene
This village, described in the 19th century as 'hamlet of beggarly cottages', was built around a castle. All that remains is an earth mound. In the late 1500s Bossiney was a rotten borough, returning Sir Francis Drake to Parliament as its member. The village carrier is out on his rounds.
