More about this scene
On the left, in Rickinghall Inferior, is the bow window of Edmund Kerry's hardware and newsagent's shop. The next house beside The Bell Hotel has been demolished. Set back before the gable of Southgate Farmhouse is the wheelwright's shop of Eric Burroughes in the former Congregational chapel. The large building across the market place was Chilver's from 1945 to 1989 - the name is retained. The war memorial is in the centre of the market place.
