More about this scene

This very well-known Sussex landmark has an air of quiet beauty and dignified charm about it. Built between 1115 and 1220 as a cell of the Abbey of Lessay near Cherbourg, Boxgrove Priory includes a particularly fine chancel among many other striking features. The 15th-century galleries in the transepts are thought to be unique in this country.
