More about this scene
Since renamed St Andrew's Road, here we are looking south-westwards towards Bridport. The nationally-known 20th-century author and playwright Thomas Ridley Sharpe moved here from Cambridge in 1978. He resided in No 170. His farce 'Blott on the Landscape' had its television debut in 1985, with ironical timing, as the northern arm of Bridport bypass was cutting its way across meadows to the east. Here the visible semi-detached houses are No 39 (right of centre) to No 45 (far right).
