Overlooking the River Asker and Happy Island, north-westwards to Watton Hill (centre) as a Great Western Railway pannier tank engine (right) steams out of Bridport Station (far left) with a goods train in the last summer of the Great War. The mixture of empty coal wagons includes (from the locomotive) 'S.M.J.' (Stratford-on-Avon and Midland Junction), 'L.Y.' (Lancashire and Yorkshire), 'M.R.' (Midland Railway) and 'G.W.' (Great Western).
