More about this scene

This building contained the village post office and the public house. The unusual name comes from the ship of Captain Philip Broke of Nacton, whose estate extended into Bucklesham. On 1 June 1813, during the war with America, Broke captured the 'Chesapeake' after a battle of only 11 minutes.
