More about this scene
The High Street runs down from the A40 to Burford Bridge and the River Windrush. The upper end is lined with pollarded lime trees. The town, once an important centre for the woollen trade, has many fine golden Cotswold stone buildings dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries, when many affluent wool merchants made their home here.
