Here the Burn winds its way through lavender-covered salt marshes to the sea; here the sand dunes stretch away to Holkham in the east and Scolt Head island to the west. A number of the boats here were still working boats at this date; fishermen took them out to sea to mussel beds renowned for the size and quality of their shellfish.
