Perhaps the best-known feature of Burnsall is its magnificent, five-arched stone bridge across the River Wharfe, seen here from the river. Originally built by Sir William Craven to link the village with Appletreewick, it has been rebuilt several times and is the only crossing in a six-mile length of the river.
