Taken from the bridge over the River Bride, this view looks northwards into the southern section of the High Street. Bridge Stores (right of centre) advertises Colman`s Mustard in much more basic style than the Victorian sign that used to look down on the central part of the street. A figure (disappearing right) is entering the Recreation Ground. The Three Horseshoes public house is behind the parked cars (centre).

I have so many memories of Burton Bradstock. My brother and I sometimes stayed with an aunt and uncle there for the annual escape from the Midlands, where we lived. Often, these visits engendered large family outings to the beach. Oh, the misery of those early bathing costumes!
