More about this scene
The Marble Hall forms a magnificent approach to the spectacularly ornate Assembly Room. Here, a huge semi-circular segmented plaster ceiling is pierced by windows, and from it hang correspondingly magnificent chandeliers. Its walls are treated with an Ionic order, which supports the vigorous horizontal lines of the entablature.
