More about this scene
The rowing boat in front of the lighthouse seems almost as fully laden as the motor launch 'Britannia' in the foreground! Since the park's inception the provision of pleasure boats has proved a major attraction. The Parks Committee initially made 50 vessels available - ten different contractors supplying five boats each. This move coincided with the appointment of the first five park keepers.
