Solid sandstone terraced houses line the Main Street of Castleton in Eskdale, on the northern edge of the North York Moors. On the left is the Robin Hood and Little John Inn, an unusual combination in an inn name, perhaps echoing the legend that the medieval man in green once used the bay which takes his name on the coast south of Whitby.
