Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. More about this scene

Tranquil waters lap around the two outer piers and the narrow entrance to the dock, which was cut back into West Polmear Cove around a century before this photograph was taken. This view indicates what an unlikely site Charlestown is for a harbour; yet the little dock was completed in 1801 by Charles Rashleigh, after whom it was named, for exporting china clay and mineral ores and importing coal.

Ft Everards Ships

my name is John Gallop I was on a small ship called MV Acrity we used to load china clay in Charles town and Par in the 50s 60s we had a good time there skippers name was Moses Cooper mate was George? 2 engineers I cook Pete scouse and myself on deck I visited a few years it brought back memories the Harbour Master had 2 nice daughters j s gallop Andover hants

So Many
I was born 1941 in Raneleigh Road Nursing Home in Mount Charles. I was brought up in Rope Walk Lane opposite the old Primary School. There was a cement works part way down the lane. My mother (aged 19) worked in the 'Food Office' in St Austell dealing with ration books and the allied administration. Her boss she called 'Cherpie' Richards and he was I understand a nice man. The Tiny Port Of Charlestown
I briefly attended Charlestown Infants' school in 1942 as it accepted children a years earlier than Mount Charles Infants (just a mile away) which I lived just a few yards from on Porthpean Road.  I was four years old at the time. Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
