Chester, Watergate Row 1949

More about this scene
Of Chester's main streets, Watergate Street is the least changed and retains a natural charm. It is a continuation of Eastgate Street, and contains three of the finest half-timbered houses in England. There are Rows on both sides of Watergate Street. Above Nobletts Chocolates we have the Victoria Commercial Hotel (established 1269) which, given its great age, was conspicuous by its absence from late 19th and early 20th-century guide books for overseas visitors.
