More about this scene

Originally built in the late 16th century, Cholmondeley was heavily remodelled by Vanbrugh; however, most of his work was subsequently demolished to make way for the present castle, which was built between 1801 and 1830. It is the seat of the Marquess of Cholmondeley.

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

I remember the Lodge well - my Grandparents lived there. I was born in 1944 and stayed in Cholmondeley and went to school there when my Mother died. Loved Beeston Lodge and the animals my Grandfather kept. His name was Howard Vincent. I also had other family members living in Cholmondeley - Tom Vincent and Howard Vincent and my Aunt lived in Broxton Millie Hopley. Does anyone remember those days
