Idyllic Memories Of A Childhood In Clochan

A Memory of Clochan.

I was bridesmaid at my Auntie Pat and Uncle Rolf's wedding at Presholme church. They met when he was a prisoner of war and married when I was three. I then spent many holidays with them during the 1950s, playing with with their daughter and my cousin from Tynet near Fochabers. I have such wonderful memories of a free childhood, playing in the forests and haystacks of Presholme farm and all the kids from around there.

My mother attended Clochan school as did her two brothers, John Hendry and Cyril Hendry and sister Margaret (Peggy). My Mums named was Isobel Hendry. Sadly Mum is the only surviving member of the family. She is in her nineties now. The family lived at Braes of Enzie where my grandfather George Hendry was grieve. Mum has happy memories of Clochan school and her life at Braes.
