More about this scene
Horses graze the rich meadows that keep the waters of the River Bure from the village street. Here are handsome pantile-roofed red brick houses. A rotted hulk squats in a narrow inlet. To the left are shallow-roofed warehouses. All around are silent reed beds, where visitors can enjoy the birdsong and the vistas of open water.
