More about this scene
Compton Chamberlayne is a small village, well off the beaten track near Salisbury. The tiny church stands in the grounds of the huge manor house and park, and dates back to the late 13th century. The south tower has a Perpendicular top, and the chancel and nave are also Perpendicular. Inside there is a confusing array of monuments commemorating various members of the Penruddock(e) family, who lived in Compton Park for four centuries.
