More about this scene

As the town grew further away from the village and the parish church, a new Anglican place of worship was necessary. The Church of the Epiphany and St John in Elizabeth Street stands 105ft high; its design is superb, with a star-shaped roof and an aluminium-coated steel- framed spire surmounted with a combined cross and star. The church was officially opened in November 1962.

I Live In Corby From 1968 Untill 1980
i was a bus conductor from 1969 untill 1976 i first lived in selby walk and from 1971 in arundel walk i was married to tina and we had two chrildren a girl kim who died at 7months and a boy trevor who we lost when he was four months old a year later

Lunch Break
This is me on my lunch break from Midland Bank in Spencer Court. I am the tallest of the three people next to the lamppost. Lunch at the Crows nest or the upstairs cafe on Corporation Street near to Woolworths.

Kingswood Comprehensive 1971 1977
I started here in 1971, we were in the technology block, Windsor house. I remember in the 3rd year my form teacher Mr Phillips ran away with one of the pupils and it made the Sunday papers. Mr Webb then took over. I left in 1977 and joined the Army and travelled the world. I have many fond memories of Corby. I had a different name back then that everyone took the rise out of, I wonder if anyone ...see more

I Started There The Day It Opened
When I passed my 11+ in 1954 our class was sent to either Kettering Grammar School (for boys) or Kettering High School (for girls). That building in Bowling Green Road is now Kettering Borough Council's offices. There was great emphasis on 'deportment' at the school and if you walked correctly and carried yourself well you were given a red sash to wear as an example to all the other girls. Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
