More about this scene
The West Pentire Hotel is a conspicuous landmark in this otherwise bleak view across fields to the sea beyond Crantock Beach, with East Pentire Point on the right. The fields remain undeveloped today, although the hotel is now called the Crantock Bay Hotel.
