More about this scene
There are a number of Neolithic monuments on the island; the Meayll Circle is of a unique design with six pairs of lintel graves arranged in a circle. When the site was excavated in 1893, evidence of burnt human bones were unearthed, along with Neolithic pottery. Other important sites include Cashtal-Yn-Ard and the chambered cairn near Laxey known as King Orrey's Grave.
